Founded more than fifty years ago in Palo Alto (Sillicon Valley/CA),
nowadays the company Varian enjoys the reputation of being one of
world's leading supplier with scientific Analytical Instruments and Vacuum
Technologies.
In April of 1999 the former Varian Associates split up into three independent
public companies:
Varian Inc., Varian Medical Systems and Varian Semiconductor Equipment.
Varian Inc., based in Palo Alto (CA), again is divided into three business units:
Scientific Instruments with Analytical Instruments, Analytical Supplies, Customer
Support NMR Systems-Vacuum Technologies. Because of this devision the company
gains more flexibility and the seperate business units can perfectly meet the special
demands/requirements of their costumers.
Varian's headquater worldwide is in Palo Alto (CA), USA; the european head office is
based in Middleburg, Netherlands and the german office in Darmstadt, Alsfelder Str.6.
Scientific Instruments employes 4300 people worldwide and realized a business volume
of more than 780 million US-$ in the business/accounting year of 2001/2002 (
