 |
The Hydrogen Institute of Applied Technologies, shortly HIAT gGmbH, is a non-profitmaking company which is creating a scientific basis for the development and optimization of innovative solutions and products in the field of Fuel Cell technology. At present, the HIAT with its scientific employees is independent of trades and firms and is involved in the research, development and the transfer of technologies in the area of actual and future-oriented tasks with research projects in different areas.
In order to do so, the institute co-operates with universities / advanced technical colleges, other research & development organizations as well as companies from the similar high technology. Co-operation agreements with organizations and companies in the technology region of Mecklenburg/Schwerin are the basis for a growing regional network. Furthermore, the HIAT is aiming at a close co-operation with firms and organizations of the region as well as with national and international institutions and companies in the field of the applied hydrogen technology.
The HIAT will be active as technological umbrella organization in the "Technologiezentrum für Wasserstofftechnik"(Technological Centre for Hydrogen Technology). Having a floor area of more than 3,500 square metres this technologically specific building complex is unique with regard to concept and orientation. Special laboratories, workshops and test equipment for applied and pre-economic research and development in the field of chemistry and physics will be reserved for firms and start-ups from the field of Fuel Cell and Hydrogen technology.
The general research performance comprises studies, concepts, the development of methods and products, consultation, appraisals, construction and developments, characterizations as well as planning and realization of functional prototypes to pilot systems. By means of the very modern measuring and laboratory equipment components and systems of the Fuel Cell and gas technology can be developed and characterized. Our test stands as well as our trade-specific equipment are available to both our partners and customers. The specific Know-how of the institute is being recognized in the mastery of most modern methods of application of the latest technologies in order to develop, to make and to characterize innovative products.
In addition, wide areas of the applied sciences and technologies can be covered by the incorporation of further regional organizations the HIAT is in close contact with.
